Travis Kelce Leads Pro Bowl Voting
The Kansas City Chiefs’ star tight end, Travis Kelce, has led the fan voting for the NFL Pro Bowl for the second year in a row. The event will be held on February 3rd. Kelce obtained a total of 420,383 votes, the highest number among all players.
Kelce, 36, widely surpassed Josh Allen, quarterback for the Buffalo Bills, who obtained 263,127 votes. Despite a less outstanding season in his 13 years in the NFL, Kelce remains very popular among fans.
The popularity of the Chiefs’ tight end has been boosted by their sporting success, including three Super Bowl titles, and their relationship with the famous singer Taylor Swift, which became public at the end of 2023. Since then, their media impact has been significant.
In September, sales of Kelce’s number 87 jersey increased by 400% after Swift’s appearances at Kansas City games. Subsequently, sales of his uniform registered another 200% increase after the announcement of their engagement on social media.
The presence of Swift at the Chiefs’ games attracted a female audience aged 12 to 17, with a 53% growth in that segment, expanding the reach of American football.
Considered one of the best tight ends in NFL history, Travis Kelce was selected by the Chiefs in the third round of the 2013 Draft. His records of 174 receptions in playoffs, 20 postseason touchdowns (the most for a tight end) and 1,416 receiving yards in a single season stand out, leader in his position.
Kelce has been called to the Pro Bowl 10 times, has four All-Pro selections, and is looking for his eleventh participation in the event.
The official rosters for the American Conference and National Conference for the Pro Bowl on February 3rd will be announced this Tuesday.
