Aaron Judge Ties Yogi Berra on Yankees Home Run List

CHICAGO – Aaron Judge continues to leave his mark on Yankees history. With his most recent home run, number 358 of his career, the center fielder tied the legendary Yogi Berra for fifth place on the franchise’s all-time home run list. Judge’s hit, connected in the first inning against the Venezuelan left-handed pitcher Martín Pérez, was not enough to secure the Yankees’ victory. The New York team suffered a 3-2 defeat against the White Sox, ending a streak of seven consecutive victories.

I am honored to be on that list, wearing this uniform and following Yogi’s legacy.

Aaron Judge
Judge closed out the month of August with an outstanding performance, overcoming physical discomfort and hitting home runs in consecutive games. In addition, he was a triple away from hitting for the cycle. The decisive hit for the White Sox came in the eighth inning, courtesy of Venezuelan Lenyn Sosa, who hit a solo home run against Tim Hill to break the tie and secure his team’s victory. The Yankees’ winning streak was the longest of the season, with a notable dominance over the Nationals and White Sox, scoring 60 runs and allowing only 22 in eight games, backed by a collective ERA of 1.57 from their starting pitchers. With a month of regular season left to play, Judge has his sights set on continuing to climb the historical list. Joe DiMaggio, with 361 home runs, is the next target, followed by Lou Gehrig (493), Mickey Mantle (536), and Babe Ruth (659).

It’s the company he belongs to. Judge is made to be among those names.

Aaron Boone, Yankees Manager
The Yankees will begin a demanding road trip in Houston, opening a 12-game stretch against contending teams. It will be a crucial opportunity for Judge and the Yankees to prove their worth in the final stretch of the season.
