New York – Juan Soto continues to demonstrate his worth in Major League Baseball. The New York Mets outfielder hit his 40th home run of the season, marking his second consecutive year with this impressive figure and being only eight stolen bases away from achieving the coveted 40-40.
Soto’s hit came in the seventh inning against left-handed pitcher Hoby Milner, giving the Mets a 2-0 lead over the Texas Rangers at Citi Field.
With this home run, the Dominican became the first Mets player to combine a season with 40 or more home runs and 30 or more stolen bases.
