José Ramírez Reaches 300 Stolen Bases and Enters Cleveland History
The stellar Dominican player José Ramírez continues to leave his mark on Major League Baseball. This Saturday, Ramírez reached 300 stolen bases in his career, a milestone that places him in a privileged position within the history of the Cleveland Guardians.
The feat was achieved during the game in which the Guardians defeated the Athletics 14-6. Ramírez, after hitting a double that drove in runs, managed to steal third base, thus sealing his entry into the 300 stolen bases club.
With this achievement, Ramírez becomes the second player in Cleveland franchise history to reach this figure. The only other player who has achieved this mark is Kenny Lofton, who leads the franchise’s historical list with 452 steals.
Additionally, Ramirez joins a select group in the Major Leagues. He is only the third third baseman of the Modern Era to achieve 300 stolen bases, along with Chone Figgins and Hans Lobert.
Currently, among active MLB players, the Dominican stands out as one of the few with 300 or more stolen bases, sharing this achievement with figures like Starling Marte, José Altuve, and Trea Turner.
Ramírez is about to achieve another significant milestone. He only needs nine home runs to join the exclusive club of players with 300 home runs and 300 stolen bases in Major League history. His outstanding career solidifies him as one of the leading figures of the Cleveland Guardians.
