Joel Ramírez Joins San Carlos Technical Body for the 2025 TBS District
Club San Carlos has announced the addition of Joel Ramírez, Immortal of Dominican Sport and former member of the national team, to its coaching staff. Ramírez will contribute his vast experience to the team that will be led by Víctor Peña in the 2025 edition of the Superior Basketball Tournament of the National District (TBS Distrito).
The tournament, organized by ABADINA, is scheduled to begin on September 20th.
Ramírez, an iconic figure in Dominican basketball and a native of Villa Consuelo, will serve as assistant coach. His career includes over 30 championships in local basketball and seven international medals with the national team, standing out for his competitiveness and leadership.
The technical staff is completed by Willy Soriano and Javier de Jesús (Rookie), both with experience as players in the Superior Distrital Tournament, and Miguel Pichardo (Morocho) as statistician.
Willy Soriano, who has been connected to the club since he was young, has taken on leadership roles in recent years. In 2025, he guided the women’s senior team to victory in the district championship, after more than twenty years without achieving it.
Javier de Jesús (Rookie) was champion of the National Development League (LND) in 2022 with the Truenos del Distrito Nacional and has experience in various local tournaments.
The team has already confirmed the hiring of Jaison Valdez and Sterling Manley as reinforcements, in addition to a solid group of native players, including Juan Guerrero, Anyeuri Castillo, Eddy Polanco, Josué Salazar, Kevin Pérez, Kevin Mateo, Enmanuel Labata, and Patricio Morillo, among others. To this group is added the experience and leadership of Manuel Guzmán, who returns to wear the green and yellow colors.
