Jean Montero is Crowned Movistar MVP of May in the Endesa League
Valencia Basket’s Dominican point guard, Jean Montero, has been recognized as the Movistar MVP of the month of May in the Spanish Basketball League, solidifying his outstanding performance on the court.
Montero, at just 20 years old, averaged impressive figures of 16.6 points, 4.6 assists, 4.2 rebounds and a valuation of 22.4 per game during the month.
This is the third monthly MVP award for Montero, after receiving the award in April 2024, playing for MoraBanc Andorra, and in March already with Valencia Basket.
The young player has become a prominent figure in Spanish basketball, accumulating the Best Young Player award for the third time this season, in addition to being included in the Liga Endesa Best Quintet.
Montero started the month with a performance of 11 points, 9 assists, and a valuation of 17, but quickly raised his performance. In five games, he averaged 16.6 points per game, with an impressive 100% in free throws (15/15), a 55.9% in two-point shots, and a 47.6% in three-pointers (10/21).
His performance included a valuation of 22 against Gran Canaria (16 points, 5 rebounds, 4 assists, and 2 steals), and then he raised the bar against Bàsquet Girona, reaching a valuation of 24 (16 points, 6 rebounds, 3 assists, and 3 steals). The icing on the cake was a crucial victory on the court of La Laguna Tenerife, where he achieved a valuation of 30, scoring 24 points, 5 assists, 3 rebounds, and 2 steals.
