JCE delivers ID cards to Dominican MLB stars for the 2026 World Baseball Classic

Santo Domingo – In a special day, the Central Electoral Board (JCE) facilitated the delivery of new IDs to the members of the Dominican baseball team, prior to their participation in the World Baseball Classic. For three days, JCE staff moved to the hotel where the team was staying to capture biometric and personal data. On Wednesday, the identity documents were delivered to the players and the technical team.

JCE Leadership

The day was led by the president of the JCE, Román Andrés Jáquez Liranzo, along with other members and directors of the institution. This initiative is part of the JCE’s renewal program, which has included prominent figures from Dominican baseball.

Manny Machado and Austin Wells received their Dominican identity card for the first time.

Technical and Management Body

The former players and the technical team accompanying the selection also received their ID cards, including Albert Pujols, Nelson Cruz, Adrián Beltré, José Reyes, Edwin Encarnación, Plácido Polanco, Carlos Febles, Joel Peralta, Julio Borbón, Fernando Tatis Sr. and José Canó. In addition, Fleming Báez, Ronny Pérez, René Rojas, Jorge Mejía, along with Omar Minaya and Juan Núñez were included in the delivery. The activity, held at the Intercontinental Hotel, facilitated data collection and delivery of the new ID cards to Major League Baseball stars and team personnel, avoiding unnecessary travel before the sporting event.
