James Harden Climbs to Top 10 in NBA All-Time Scoring
In a bittersweet night for the Los Angeles Clippers, guard James Harden achieved a historic milestone. Despite the 109-106 loss to the Minnesota Timberwolves, Harden surpassed Carmelo Anthony and secured the tenth position on the NBA’s all-time scoring list.
Harden, at 36 years old, needed 20 points to surpass Anthony’s 28,289. He achieved the feat with four minutes left in the third quarter, finishing the game with 34 points.
The guard, who is playing his 17th season in the league, joins legends like Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, Karl Malone, Kobe Bryant, Michael Jordan, Dirk Nowitzki, Wilt Chamberlain and Shaquille O’Neal.
Currently, only two active players accompany Harden in the top 10 scorers: LeBron James, historical leader with 42,268 points, and Kevin Durant, who occupies the eighth place with more than 31,000 units.
Harden’s individual achievement contrasts with the Clippers’ current situation, who have lost 10 of their last 12 games. Despite Harden’s averages of 26.5 points and 8.4 assists this season, the team is in an unfavorable position in the Western Conference.
Minnesota’s victory was sealed with a decisive three-pointer by Naz Reid, with 13 seconds left in the game.Jalen Johnson Shines with a New Triple-Double
