São Paulo – The world of rhythmic gymnastics mourns the loss of Isabelle Marciniak, a young promise who left an indelible mark on the sport. The gymnast, Brazilian junior champion in 2021, passed away on Wednesday at the age of 18.
A Promising Career
The Paranaense Gymnastics Federation confirmed the death of Marciniak, who was battling Hodgkin’s disease, a cancer that affected her lymphatic system. Despite her young age, the athlete accumulated important achievements, including regional and national titles. In 2021, Marciniak shone at the Brazilian Youth Rhythmic Gymnastics Championship, obtaining the gold medal in the all-around competition and silver with the ribbon. In addition, she conquered first place in the ball event. Her talent and dedication led her to achieve another success in 2023, by becoming champion with the adult trio of the Agir Club of Curitiba.The gymnast will be mourned and buried in Araucária, her hometown, located in the metropolitan region of Curitiba.
