Cap Cana is preparing to host the third edition of the IRONMAN 70.3, a renowned sporting event that will take place on May 17th. This competition has established itself as a benchmark for sports tourism in the Caribbean, attracting athletes and fans from all over the world.

An Event of International Prestige

In just two editions, the IRONMAN 70.3 Cap Cana has managed to position itself among the favorite races of the international circuit. It has been recognized among the five best races in Latin America, according to the awards given by the IRONMAN athletes themselves. The participation of more than a thousand competitors, both national and international, is expected, who will face the demanding 70.3 format. This challenge includes 1.9 kilometers of swimming in the waters of the Atlantic Ocean, 90 kilometers of cycling and 21.1 kilometers of running.

Cap Cana’s environment, with its beaches, marina, and top-notch infrastructure, offers ideal conditions for elite athletes and enthusiasts.

Authorities and organizers
The event positively impacts the international projection of the country as a sports destination. The competition route will begin on the coast of Cap Cana, continue with a bike ride through the main roads and the national highway, and end with a foot race that will cross the Marina to reach the finish line at Juanillo Beach. As a prelude to the event, the official Expo will be held on May 15th and 16th, where athletes and visitors can collect their kits and participate in activities related to the brand. The competition will award qualifying slots for the 2026 IRONMAN 70.3 World Championship, to be held in Nice. With this new edition, the IRONMAN 70.3 Cap Cana reaffirms its role as a key platform for the growth of endurance sports and the promotion of sports tourism in the Dominican Republic.
