INEFI Boosts Updates in Athletics for Coaches and Teachers
Santo Domingo – The National Institute of Physical Education (INEFI), through its Teaching Directorate, held an update workshop focused on the area of athletics, with the aim of strengthening the continuous training of technicians and teachers of physical education. The event took place on the 11th and 12th of this month at the Faculty of Education of the Autonomous University of Santo Domingo (UASD). The initiative, led by Orlando Taveras, INEFI’s teaching director, brought together 100 technicians from educational regions 10 and 15. The workshop provided a platform for the exchange of knowledge and the updating of skills in the field of athletics.Workshop Content
The workshop program included a variety of topics taught by specialists in the field. Pedro Ynoa addressed the topic of races, while José Lara focused on jumps. Sandino Adames, for his part, developed the module on throws. In addition to the theory, practical sessions were held at the Eugenio María de Hostos venue, allowing participants to apply the knowledge acquired.Orlando Taveras highlighted that, with the support of the executive director of INEFI, Alberto Rodríguez Mella, a new training approach is being implemented. This approach is based on constant updating and the application of active and innovative methodologies in the teaching of physical education. Also present at the activity were the director of the School of Physical Education and Sports Sciences, Confesor Lapaix, as well as technicians José J. Troncoso and Sandino Adames.These workshops are part of a sustainable project, which responds to a real need of the educational system in the area of physical education.
