INEFI Closes 2025 Successfully in Strengthening School Sports
The National Institute of Physical Education (INEFI) concluded the year 2025 with significant advances in promoting school sports and physical education in the Dominican Republic. Through the execution of various programs, events, and works of social impact, the institution benefited hundreds of thousands of students throughout the country. During the year, INEFI successfully promoted school marches, an initiative designed to encourage physical activity, discipline, and civic values at the primary level. This initiative integrated educational centers from different regions of the country. Furthermore, programs that strengthen the use of school time with sports, recreational, and educational activities were implemented for the first time in the country, contributing to the comprehensive development of the student body.School Games and Sports Infrastructure Works

INEFI promoted the celebration of two school marching festivals, integrating educational centers from different regions of the country. The first was held in Santiago and the second, at the primary level, had significant student participation. Likewise, the institution continued to support the extended sports program, implementing the first stage of the project at the Unión Panamericana High School in the National District, where specialized monitors offered basketball, chess, and table tennis classes.Renovation of Facilities and Delivery of Sports Equipment
The delivery of sports equipment and the repair of courts reached record figures, with hundreds of interventions carried out in educational centers nationwide. A total of 218 sports facilities were renovated in 193 schools or community sports centers.Sporting Events and Strategic Programs
The institutional calendar included numerous school and recreational sporting events, in addition to the strengthening of strategic disciplines through the school golf and swimming programs, expanding students’ access to traditionally limited sports. In addition, INEFI continued with the implementation of the program “Recreating myself with INEFI”. This initiative directly impacted the emotional and physical well-being of more than 19,230 students, promoting healthy coexistence, teamwork, and the discovery of sporting talents.During the year, INEFI carried out the innovative school golf program, the school swimming program at the Olympic Hostel, the national school baseball and athletics tournaments, the school bowling tournament, in addition to supporting other events such as the national minibasketball gathering, among others.
