Katharina Hobgarski Crowned Champion at W35 Punta Cana
German tennis player Katharina Hobgarski won the title of the W35 Punta Cana tournament, after an exciting match that lasted 3 hours and 12 minutes. Hobgarski, who started as the second seed, demonstrated her skill by defeating the favorite, the Argentinian Luisina Giovannini, in a match that was decided in three sets with scores of 6-3, 5-7 and 6-4. In the doubles modality, Hobgarski stood out again, this time partnering with the Polish Weronika Falkowska. Together, they achieved the championship by defeating the duo formed by the Italian Anastasia Abbagnato and the Dutch Stephanie Judith Visscher, with a final score of 6-2 and 7-5. The tournament, which distributes a purse of 30 thousand dollars, was directed by Sergio Sabadello, and Jimi Cardona as the main referee, assisted by Francisco de los Santos. The tournament champion gets 35 points, while the finalist adds 23. The semi-finalists receive 14 points, the quarter-finalists 8 and the players who reach the round of 16 get 4 points.This Monday another W35 tournament will start in the same venue, maintaining the same characteristics of the event that has just concluded.
