Las Palmas de Gran Canaria – The Hidramar Emalsa Gran Canaria has begun its preparation for the 2025/2026 season with renewed energy and the firm purpose of achieving glory, after an intense transfer window that has significantly transformed its squad. The team’s new coach, Juan Diego García, has stated that the main challenge is to consolidate the group’s cohesion. “The priority is to turn this group into a real team, where each member works in harmony with the others,” said García. This process, according to the coach, will require time and a deep mutual understanding among the players. The team captain, Saray Manzano, who is facing her fourteenth season with the club, expressed her enthusiasm for this new project. Manzano highlighted the excitement of “closing a core” in the locker room, to subsequently focus on ambitious goals: “The excitement of winning titles is at its peak, and that’s what we’re going for.” Manzano emphasizes the importance of moving forward step by step, starting with friendly matches and, once the Liga Iberdrola begins, aiming to position themselves in the upper part of the table to secure a place in the Copa de la Reina and the play-offs. Blanca Arcos, one of the new additions, arrives at the club with great aspirations and the desire to “achieve the maximum possible titles”. Arcos emphasized the need to “spend many hours together, train and work as one” to achieve the proposed goals. Arcos is optimistic about the 2025/2026 season, considering it an opportunity to “learn from the experiences of the older ones” and continue progressing, seeking to “improve and give my best level every day.” The Hidramar Emalsa Gran Canaria has reinforced its squad with Belly Nsunguimina, Fernanda Maida, Blanca Arcos, Marina Scherer, Meg Brown, Petra Indrová, Alejandra Pavón (promoted to the first team), Inés Ignacio and Katie Corelli, in addition to the incorporation of coach Juan Diego García.
