Miami – Dominican Republic demonstrated its ability in the World Baseball Classic, combining strength, speed, and audacity in its quarterfinal matchup against South Korea.

In the second inning, Junior Caminero hit a double that drove in the Dominican offense. Vladimir Guerrero Jr., from first base, ran towards home plate in an impressive play.

Upon receiving the throw, Guerrero Jr. slid, avoiding Korean catcher Dong Wan Park and scoring the first run of the game, putting the Dominicans ahead 1-0.

The Dominican offense continued its attack. A ground ball by Julio Rodríguez and a single by Fernando Tatis Jr. added two more runs, extending the lead to 3-0.

Dominican Republic reached the quarterfinals as one of the most outstanding teams in the tournament, after finishing undefeated in Group D with a 4-0 record and an offense that has connected multiple home runs.

Cristopher Sánchez is scheduled to pitch for the Dominican Republic, while South Korea relies on Hyun Jin Ryu as a starter.

The winner of this match will advance to the semifinals of the tournament.
