Former NBA player Gilbert Arenas was arrested in Encino, California, for his alleged involvement in organizing illegal poker games, according to reports from the United States Attorney’s Office.

Along with Arenas, Yevgeni Gershman, Evgenni Tourevski, Allan Austria, and Yarin Cohen were also arrested. These individuals are identified as part of a network that operated clandestine games with exclusive services, private security, and high stakes.
According to the authorities, Gershman would be linked to Israeli organized crime.
Arenas’ Positions and Career
Arenas, 43 years old, faces charges of conspiracy, operating an illegal gambling business, and making false statements to investigators.
During his NBA career, Arenas was a three-time All-Star, excelling with the Washington Wizards. However, his career was also marked by controversies, such as a suspension in 2010 for an incident involving weapons in the locker room.
