Gigantes del Cibao Defeat Águilas Cibaeñas with Solid Pitching

SAN FRANCISCO DE MACORÍS – Los Gigantes del Cibao achieved an important victory by defeating the Águilas Cibaeñas 2-0 this Saturday at the Julián Javier Stadium, within the framework of the autumn-winter baseball tournament dedicated to Juan Marichal and in option for the Banreservas Cup. This shutout represents a milestone for the Giants, being the first of the season and the seventh of the championship. Furthermore, it marks the first time since December 22, 2024 that the Eagles have been held scoreless playing in San Francisco de Macorís. With this triumph, the Giants reach their tenth victory, consolidating themselves as the only team that has managed to beat the Eagles twice, who still lead the particular series with a score of 5-2.

Key Batting and Dominance on the Mound

The Giants’ offense made itself felt early on. Deyvison De los Santos opened the scoring in the fourth inning with a home run that flew over center field. Later, in the seventh inning, Leury García drove in a run with a single, bringing Marco Hernández to the plate and establishing the final 2-0 score.
