SANTO DOMINGO – A double by Hanser Alberto in the tenth inning was key for the Gigantes del Cibao to defeat the Tigres del Licey 3-2, in the closing of the Regular Season of the LIDOM 2025-26 tournament, dedicated to Juan Marichal and in dispute of the Banreservas Cup. With this victory, the fourth in a row, the Giants secured their qualification to the Round Robin, finishing in third position with a record of 24-26, surpassing the Leones del Escogido. The decisive run came with two outs in the top of the tenth inning, when Alberto hit a solid hit to left field against Samuel Muñoz, allowing Jorge Bonifacio to score from second base. For Hanser Alberto, this was his unstoppable number 298 in the LIDOM, solidifying himself as the third player with the most hits in the history of the franchise, only surpassed by Alexis Casilla (348) and Moisés Sierra (303).
