University Baseball League: Dedicated to Stanley Javier
Santiago – The fourth edition of the University Baseball League, which began this Saturday at the Cibao Stadium, promises to be a transcendental event for Dominican sports. Raymond Rodríguez, executive vice president of Grupo GBC Pharmacies, highlighted the importance of this edition, which is dedicated to former major leaguer Stanley Javier. Rodríguez expressed his hope that this event will serve as a platform for university athletes to develop both in the sports and academic fields, aspiring to a successful professional career. For a month, nine university teams will compete at the Cibao Stadium, an emblematic venue for Dominican baseball. The participating universities include the Technological University of Santiago (Utesa), the Autonomous University of Santo Domingo (UASD), the Higher Institute of Agriculture (ISA), the Dominican University (O&M), the UCE, the ITLA Institute and UNAPEC, among other higher education institutions.Stanley Javier, for his part, expressed his gratitude for the recognition and highlighted the importance of being an example for young baseball players. The University Baseball League is organized by the Directorate of the National Baseball Commissioner (DCNB), which thanked Farmacias GBC, Banreservas and other institutions for their support.
