Coco Gauff Wins at Roland Garros and Advances to Semifinals

Paris – American tennis player Coco Gauff, currently number 2 in the world, has secured her place in the Roland Garros semi-finals for the third time in her career, and for the second time in a row. Gauff achieved this feat after defeating her compatriot Madison Keys with scores of 6-7(6), 6-4, and 6-1.

With this victory, the 21-year-old young tennis player adds her 25th triumph on the Parisian clay court, marking a milestone as the youngest player to reach this figure since Martina Hingis, who achieved it between 1995 and 2000.

Gauff, finalist in the Madrid and Rome tournaments, defeated Keys, ranked number 7 in the world. Keys arrived at the match after winning the Australian Open at the beginning of the year, accumulating eleven consecutive victories in Grand Slam and seeking her second semifinal at Roland Garros.

Waiting for their rival

In the next round, Gauff will face the winner of the match between Russia’s Mirra Andreeva, sixth in the world, and France’s Lois Boisson, invited by the organizers.
