SANTO DOMINGO, RD. – The young shortstop Diego Frontado, only 17 years old, has signed his first professional contract with the Milwaukee Brewers, marking a milestone in his promising career. Frontado, selected as the Pick #1, secured a bonus of 1.6 million dollars, solidifying himself as one of the most outstanding international signings of the 2025 Class. The agreement was finalized during the International Signing Day of Major Leagues, held on January 15th. The ceremony took place in Venezuela, the homeland of the talented player, after a rigorous process of preparation and development in the Dominican Republic and his country of origin.

A prospect with great potential

Trained at the HYL Baseball Academy in the Dominican Republic, Frontado is recognized as one of the most complete prospects of his generation. His defensive skills at shortstop are notable, standing out for his solidity, soft hands, excellent lateral range, and a powerful and precise arm.

On offense, he shows a consistent bat, with power, good discipline and a great projection for development, profiling as a high-impact player in the future.
