FIFA and YouTube: A Historic Alliance for the 2026 World Cup
FIFA has announced a groundbreaking collaboration with YouTube, designating the platform as its “preferred platform” for the 2026 World Cup. This agreement, described as “historic,” aims to expand the global reach of the tournament, which will be held in the United States, Mexico, and Canada from June 11 to July 19. This alliance will allow audiovisual rights holders to use their official channels on YouTube. A variety of content can be offered, such as extended summaries, exclusive images, short videos, and on-demand material. FIFA thus seeks to increase interaction with fans worldwide.Key Innovations in Transmission
One of the most notable new features is the possibility for operators to broadcast the first ten minutes of each match live via YouTube. In addition, a selection of full matches will be broadcast in certain regions. This strategy seeks to facilitate access to new audiences.
