FENAPEPRO Rejects LIDOM’s Decision on Clase and Ortiz
The National Federation of Professional Baseball Players (FENAPEPRO) has expressed its strong rejection of the decision by the Dominican Professional Baseball League (LIDOM) to prevent the registration of pitchers Emmanuel Clase and Luis Ortiz for the 2025-26 season with the Estrellas Orientales. Following a meeting of its directors, FENAPEPRO issued an official statement where it set out its institutional position.“The National Federation of Professional Baseball Players (FENAPEPRO) reaffirms its absolute commitment to the principles of transparency, integrity, and fair play that govern professional baseball. FENAPEPRO emphasized its commitment to defending the rights and dignity of the players, ensuring that any disciplinary or administrative process is carried out under due process and the presumption of innocence. The Federation also emphasized that any measure affecting active or investigated players must be adopted with balance, transparency, and respect for previously agreed procedures. In its statement, FENAPEPRO announced that it has requested an urgent meeting with LIDOM to analyze the details of the case and seek a solution in accordance with the regulations.The National Federation of Professional Baseball Players reiterated its commitment to the institutional strengthening of Dominican baseball and the fair defense of the rights of its affiliates, emphasizing that every decision must be based on ethics, equity, and respect for the law.“FENAPEPRO advocates for every measure or decision involving players to be adopted with balance, transparency, and in accordance with the procedures previously agreed upon between the parties, for the benefit of the sport and our players. That is why it has requested an urgent meeting with the Dominican Baseball League to learn about the case that has been arbitrarily discussed in the media, without the institution being consulted,”
