Santo Domingo – The National Federation of Professional Baseball Players (FENAPEPRO) met last Wednesday, October 15, with the president of the Dominican Republic Professional Baseball League (LIDOM), Vitelio Mejía, to address the situation of the pitchers of the Estrellas Orientales, Emmanuel Clase and Luis Ortiz.
The federation demands that the rights of both players be respected in order to participate in the autumn-winter 2025-2026 season.

FENAPEPRO presented legal and sports arguments to LIDOM, arguing that the decision to prevent the registration of Clase and Ortiz on their team’s roster violates the principles of legality, due process, and presumption of innocence.
The decision violates the principles of legality, due process, and the presumption of innocence.
Subsequently, the federation appeared before the LIDOM Board of Directors on Thursday the 16th, to substantiate its challenge request and submit a reasoned document supporting the legal and regulatory reasons for its petition.
Pending the official pronouncement of the Board, FENAPEPRO reiterated its commitment to defending the rights of its members, and reaffirmed that it will continue to act in strict adherence to the values of transparency, justice, and good governance that should govern Dominican professional baseball.
