Dodgers Close to World Series After Defeating the Brewers

Los Angeles, CA – Los Angeles Dodgers are one win away from reaching the World Series, after defeating the Milwaukee Brewers with a score of 3-1 this Thursday. The match, corresponding to the National League Championship Series, puts the Dodgers with a 3-0 lead.

The key hit of the game was a single by Tommy Edman against rookie Jacob Misiorowski in the sixth inning, driving in two runs that defined the score.

If the victory materializes, the Dodgers would be the first defending champion to reach the World Series since the 2009 Philadelphia Phillies. In addition, no team has achieved consecutive titles since the New York Yankees, who won three straight championships between 1998 and 2000.

In MLB history, only one team has come back from a 3-0 postseason deficit: the Boston Red Sox in 2004, against the Yankees.
