SANTO DOMINGO, RD. – The Dominican Modern Pentathlon Federation (Fedopem) has announced the holding of an important course for judges of the International Modern Pentathlon Union (UIPM), at levels I, II and III. This training event is crucial in the technical preparation for the Central American and Caribbean Games Santo Domingo 2026. The course, designed for intensive training, will be held from May 1st to 5th in the conference hall of the Dominican Olympic Hostel. The training, which will combine theory and practice, will last for five full days. Kenny Núñez Veras, president of Fedopem, informed that the course will be led by the Argentinian specialist Rafael Acosta, who will act as the main facilitator.

We have 29 officials who completed the online training phase, in addition to nine listeners who will join the process, for a total of 38 participants who will be linked to the 2026 Games

Núñez Veras also highlighted the support of the UIPM, chaired by Rob Stull, who has waived 100% of the registration fee for participating judges. The leader explained that the course will allow the updating of judges with expired licenses and the incorporation of new officials into the competitive system of modern pentathlon. Finally, Núñez Veras extended his gratitude to the Games organizing committee, led by José P. Monegro, for their support in facilitating the space, logistics, and resources necessary for the realization of this important course. With this initiative, Fedopem consolidates the training of the technical personnel who will play a fundamental role in the development of modern pentathlon during the 2026 Games.
