Fans Brave the Rain to Enjoy the World Classic at the Malecón
A multitude of fans gathered at Santo Domingo Park, located on the Malecón of the capital, to witness the exciting match between the Dominican Republic and Venezuela in the World Baseball Classic. The activity, organized by the Mayor’s Office of the National District, demonstrated the passion that this sport awakens in the fans.
Despite the adverse weather conditions, with rains that persisted throughout the afternoon and part of the night, baseball fans showed their fervor by defying the bad weather. The sporting event brought together fans from both nations, creating an atmosphere of camaraderie and excitement.
From the early hours of the day, Dominicans and Venezuelans gathered in the park, located at the intersection of George Washington and Abraham Lincoln avenues. A special space was prepared for the public to enjoy the expected meeting, generating a festive atmosphere.
The atmosphere was charged with emotion and euphoria, with flags, caps, shouts, and music that encouraged the attendees. The audience celebrated each play, showing their unconditional support for their teams in one of the most anticipated duels of the tournament.
Entire families, young people and adults gathered in the park to experience the passion for baseball, demonstrating that this sport continues to be a meeting point between different generations.
To ensure a comfortable and safe experience, giant screens, food areas, mobile bathrooms, and a logistical device were installed, which sought to provide the best environment for all attendees who decided to enjoy the game at the Malecón.
