Santo Domingo – Aaron Brooks shone on the mound, limiting the opposing offense to only three hits in six innings of work, and Eloy Jiménez hit a crucial home run to secure the Toros del Este’s 3-2 victory over the Tigres del Licey this Sunday. The game is part of the 2025-26 autumn-winter tournament of the Dominican Professional Baseball League (LIDOM), dedicated to Juan Marichal and in option for the Banreservas Cup. This triumph represents the fourth consecutive victory for the Bulls, who now exhibit a record of 24-17, with an impressive 12-8 record playing as visitors. The victory reduces their magic number to two, bringing them closer to qualification.

Jiménez, who was interviewed after the game, hit his fourth home run of the season, the tenth of his career in the LIDOM. The hit, which traveled 387 feet through left-center field, was hit off a curveball from starting pitcher Shaun Anderson in the second inning. With this home run, Jiménez joins a select group of hitters with ten career home runs in the league. So far this season, Jiménez has a batting average of .221 (23 hits in 104 at-bats), with 12 runs scored, 4 home runs, 18 RBIs, and 10 walks received. Aaron Brooks, for his part, obtained his third victory of the season, leaving his effectiveness at 2.81. In 32 innings pitched, he has struck out 27 batters, allowing 17 hits, 17 runs, 10 earned runs and granting seven walks.
