Benson stood out with the bat by driving in three runs, while he, De la Cruz, McLain, and Gavin Lux contributed two hits each for an offense that resurfaced after several games with a low scoring average.
For his part, Bryse Wilson (0-2) took the loss after allowing seven runs and three home runs in five and a third innings.
On the opposing team, Cuban Miguel Vargas was the most outstanding for the White Sox, batting 2-for-4 and driving in the team’s only run in the eighth inning. His compatriots Luis Robert Jr. and Venezuelan Lenyn Sosa went 0-for-3.
