Miami – The renowned businessman and CEO of Alofoke Media Group, Santiago Matías, known as “Alofoke”, had the honor of making the initial launch prior to the match between the Dominican Republic and the Netherlands at LoanDepot Park in Miami, during the 2026 World Baseball Classic.
Matías was invited to participate in the traditional first pitch, a symbolic ceremony that precedes the start of the games. On this occasion, the event was attended by thousands of fans who gathered at the stadium to support the Dominican Republic national team.
The Dominican communicator went up to the mound moments before the game began, starring in an instant that was received with applause by the public present at the Miami Marlins stadium, home to several games of the international tournament.
This gesture underscores the presence of influential figures from the Dominican community at major sporting events, especially in Miami, where a large Dominican diaspora resides, closely following the national team’s participation in the tournament.
The 2026 World Baseball Classic brings together the most outstanding national teams in the world and has established itself as one of the most important events in the international baseball calendar, with the participation of the brightest stars of Major League Baseball.
