The Dominican duo of Nairobi Jiménez and Clarissa Confident won the silver medal in the women’s doubles final, after falling to the Guatemalans Nikte Sotomayor and Diana Corletto with scores of 21-11 and 21-15.To reach the final, Jiménez and Confident defeated the Colombian pair Juliana Giraldó Andrade and Karen Patiño 2-1 in the semifinals, and in the quarterfinals they beat the Salvadorans Daniel Hernández and Fátima Centeno 2-0.Coach Maikel Moreno highlighted the team’s progress, emphasizing that this result is part of the recovery process of Dominican badminton.
