Luka Dončić Fined for Inappropriate Gesture

The NBA has announced a $50,000 fine for Slovenian player Luka Dončić for an inappropriate gesture directed at a referee during a recent game.

The league reported that the fine is due to Dončić making a gesture with both hands simulating counting money, an act that the NBA called “unprofessional and inappropriate”.

The incident took place during the match between the Los Angeles Lakers and the New York Knicks.

The action occurred after a play in which Dončić fell to the ground after contact with Knicks player Mohamed Diawara. The player claimed an offensive foul that was not called by the referees.

Visibly frustrated by the referee’s decision, Dončić made the gesture that has now earned him the financial sanction.

The incident occurred with 4:35 remaining in the third quarter of the game held at the Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles.

Despite the incident, the Lakers secured the victory with a score of 110-97. Dončić once again stood out as one of the team’s offensive pillars.

The Slovenian point guard is having an outstanding season, averaging 32.5 points per game, which solidifies him as one of the most important figures on the team and of the current season.
