Dominicans Shine in the 2025 Future Stars Game
Dominican Republic solidifies its position as a global leader in baseball, thanks to the notable participation of its young talents in the 2025 Futures Game. This event, which brings together the most outstanding prospects from the minor leagues of Major League Baseball, will take place on Saturday, July 12 at Truist Park, home of the Atlanta Braves.
The game, broadcast on MLB Network and MLB digital platforms, will serve as an international platform to showcase the future of the sport.
A total of four Dominican players have been selected to represent their country in this prestigious event.
- Leo De Vries (San Diego Padres): Switch-hitting shortstop, he is the highest-ranked Dominican player, holding the No. 3 spot in MLB Pipeline’s Top 100. At 18 years old, De Vries already competes in High-A with Fort Wayne, being the only player of that age in that category. His maturity, solid defense, and contact ability make him one of baseball’s gems.
- Jesús Made (Milwaukee Brewers): At just 18 years old, Made is MLB Pipeline’s No. 18 prospect and the youngest on the entire 2025 Futures Game roster. He plays shortstop and third base, and stands out for his consistent hitting and complete athletic tools.
- Josue De Paula (Los Angeles Dodgers): High-profile outfielder, De Paula is one of the most promising bats in the Dodgers’ system. He holds the No. 28 spot in MLB’s ranking, with a combination of power, discipline, and physical projection that places him among the best offensive talents in the event.
- Esmerlyn Valdez (Pittsburgh Pirates): Valdez, outfielder and first baseman, is not yet in the Top 100, but his presence in this event highlights his growing profile in Pittsburgh’s minor league system. With power at the plate and notable physical development, he is a name that is beginning to resonate strongly.
