Dominican Republic Champion of the Cosat U12 Cup 2025!
The Dominican Republic women’s team won the title of the Cosat U12 Cup 2025 after defeating Peru in the final with a score of 2-1. The tournament took place from November 17 to 21 at the Jockey Club of Peru, in Lima. Dominicans demonstrated their superiority throughout the tournament, establishing themselves as the surprise of the championship. In the final, the Peruvian team, led by Vicka Lanatta, achieved the first point after the victory over Kyara Khayyat. However, Ana Paula Vega tied the series for the Dominican Republic, securing a crucial point. The decisive point came in the doubles, where Vega and Khayyat prevailed over Mannucci and Lanatta in an exciting match, with partials of 7-6 (14) and 6-3, guaranteeing the championship for the “criollas”. The team was made up of the young tennis players Kyara Khayyat, Ana Paula Vega and Elaine Martínez, under the direction of captain Danneury Javier.- Dominican Republic

Ecuador obtained third place by defeating Colombia 2-0. The event featured the participation of 24 female athletes, and was arbitrated by Jhonny Suárez, with Ivan Machado as the representative of Cosat. This tournament offers valuable international experience for young female tennis players, preparing them for future competitions in the 14-year-old category, starting next year.I am very proud of this achievement. The team worked with discipline, commitment, and unity, and that allowed us to achieve the title. I congratulate each coach who has been involved in the growth of each of the girls, our families, and all those who trusted us. Representing the Dominican Republic is an honor, and we will continue working to keep that pride high.
