Ballplayers Share Their Christmas Traditions
From the Quisqueya Juan Marichal Stadium, our Alofoke Deportes team spoke with several baseball players to learn about their plans and customs during the Christmas Eve dinner, celebrated on December 24th. The players shared their expectations and revealed details about their festivities. The players emphasized the importance of sharing, harmony, and, of course, enjoying the food. They highlighted that spending time with family is the most valuable aspect of these celebrations.Gilbert Gómez, leader of the Tigres del Licey, explained that every year, along with his wife, they alternate visits to their respective parents to ensure they share with the whole family. “To eat a trip, to eat a lot,” he commented, adding that the pasteles en hoja and chicken skin are essential on his table. Robinson Canó also shared his traditions, mentioning that pork, chicken, dumplings, and Russian salad are some of the dishes that cannot be missing from his Christmas Eve celebration.My best time is with my family. Pork and “moro” (rice and beans) are a must.
