Titans Conquer the North Division and Advance for the Great Brotherhood Cup
Santo Domingo – The Titans of the Domingo Guzmán league won the championship of the North Division in the XXXV edition of the chata softball tournament of the Rubén Pimentel leagues of the National District, after defeating the Mellos Softball Club.
The exciting match, which took place at the Hoyo de Chulín stadium of the Alfredo Tejada sports complex, saw both teams, qualified via “Wild Card”, fight for the coveted title.
The National District Softball Association (Asadina) organized the tournament, which is played for the 2025 Confraternidad Cup, with 4Fans balls and Z-mil bats, courtesy of JM. Álvarez, co-sponsors of the event.
The Titans’ triumph was built on the effective pitching work of Miguel de la Cruz, who took the victory thanks to the support of 12 hits, with a final score of 7-5. Eulogio Rivera took the loss.
On the offensive side, Juan C. Cabrera stood out by batting 3-3, with a run scored. Onassis Rodríguez hit a home run, going 3-2, scored and drove in a run, while Miguel De la Cruz contributed a double, batting 3-2, with two RBIs. Jasiel Durán batted 4-2, scoring and driving in a run, and Amauris Jáquez, going 3-1, hit a home run, scoring and driving in a run.
Caonabo Lemoniel, vice president of Asadina, presented the trophy to the champions of the North Division, expressing congratulations and words of encouragement to all participating teams.
The Titans are now preparing to face the champion of the South Division, the Adovenprofar league, which secured its place after defeating Centro. Adovenprofar’s rival will be decided between Restauradores and la Farándula in a match scheduled for Thursday at the Club Mirabal facilities.
