Defense Minister Swears in Organizing Committee for the Sports Games of the Armed Forces and the National Police
Santo Domingo – Lieutenant General Carlos Antonio Fernández Onofre, Minister of Defense, led the swearing-in of the Organizing Committee for the 55th edition of the Sports Games of the Armed Forces and the National Police. The ceremony took place on the front esplanade of the Ministry of Defense.
During the event, the minister received the torch with the sports fire, a symbol that will mark the beginning of the tour through the military institutions that will participate in the competition.
The torch was delivered by Brigadier General Raúl Esteban Mora Hernández, president of the Board of Directors of the Sports Confederation of the Armed Forces and the National Police. Mora Hernández emphasized the relevance of the event as a space to foster camaraderie, discipline, and sportsmanship among the armed forces.
The ceremony included the raising of the national flag, accompanied by the flags of the military institutions, in an atmosphere that highlighted patriotic and sporting values.
Brigadier General Euler E. Sierra Pérez, FARD, was sworn in as president of the Organizing Committee. He will be accompanied by a team of officers from the Armed Forces and the National Police.

Paratrooper Captain Simón Lizardo Roa, FARD, was appointed as technical director of the games. The team is completed by First Lieutenant Doctor Silvano Gonell Alcántara, ERD, as medical director; First Lieutenant María Altagracia García Cáceres, ERD, as head of protocol; and journalist Julio Valdez, FARD, assimilated military, as press officer.
The 55 Sports Games of the Armed Forces and the National Police will bring together athletes from various military and police branches, with the aim of promoting integration, camaraderie, and the development of institutional sports.
