The match, corresponding to the 2025-26 Dominican Baseball League (LIDOM) tournament, was played on Saturday and was dedicated to Juan Marichal, with the Banreservas Cup at stake. This triumph is crucial for the Giants, who now tie the Tigres del Licey with a record of 21-26, remaining only half a game behind the fourth qualifying position. The excitement increases as the end of the Regular Series approaches, with only three games remaining. The tension intensifies, as Gigantes and Licey will face each other in the last two games of the regular round, promising adrenaline-filled duels: on Monday in San Francisco de Macorís and on Tuesday in Santo Domingo. De los Santos ignited the offense in the fourth inning with a two-run homer, driving in Luis García Jr. from first base, against Tyler Danish’s pitches. Danish, who worked 3.1 innings, was charged with the loss. He allowed two hits, two earned runs, one walk and struck out three batters, including De los Santos’ home run. Cristopher Molina had an outstanding performance from the mound, pitching 3.2 scoreless innings. He allowed four hits, gave up one walk, and struck out two opponents. Blake Wilman (2-0) took the win by securing the last out of the fourth inning.
