Bryan De La Cruz: Hero on the Diamond with a Decisive Home Run

La Romana – Bryan De La Cruz continues his outstanding performance in the Round Robin, establishing himself as a key figure for the Toros del Este. In Tuesday’s game, De La Cruz became a hero once again, connecting a crucial three-run home run in the eighth inning that propelled his team to victory over the Águilas Cibaeñas with a score of 8-5 at the Francisco A. Micheli Stadium. With the score tied at 5 runs, De La Cruz hit an impressive home run to left field, bringing two teammates home and crowning a four-run comeback that defined the game in favor of the Toros.

This was De La Cruz’s first home run in the Todos contra Todos and the second for the Toros in this stage. In addition to the hit, the outfielder hit two doubles, adding to a stellar night that keeps him in MVP mode, leading the Round Robin in batting average (.529), RBIs (8) and with a home run.

The victory was credited to reliever Miguel Castro (1-0), who pitched the eighth inning, including a strikeout. Joe Corbett earned the save, retiring the ninth inning without allowing runs and with a strikeout. The loss went to Richard Rodríguez (0-1). The Toros’ pitching staff once again demonstrated its strength in critical moments, limiting the Águilas’ offense, who left 11 runners on base, with a poor performance of 3 hits in 14 at-bats with men in scoring position.
