Cristiano Ronaldo Asks for Caution with Lamine Yamal: “Let Him Grow Peacefully”

Munich, Germany – On the eve of the Nations League final against Spain, Cristiano Ronaldo, captain of the Portuguese national team, called for calm regarding the young Spanish star Lamine Yamal. In a press conference, Ronaldo expressed his wish that Yamal, who is only 17 years old, be allowed to develop without excessive pressure.

“The boy is doing very, very, very well. He is in a club that helps him a lot, he is in a team that helps him a lot too, he is in a very conducive environment for his qualities to emerge, which are very, very great. But what I really ask is that they let the boy grow peacefully,” said Cristiano.

The Portuguese forward emphasized the importance of protecting young talent to ensure a long and fruitful career. Ronaldo also addressed the topic of individual awards, noting that, in his opinion, they have lost value. He highlighted that, although Yamal has great potential, individual awards are less relevant.

When asked if Sunday’s final symbolizes a generational change, Ronaldo replied that he has always been accustomed to comparisons and that he prefers to focus on the team’s performance.

Furthermore, he joked about the age similarity between Yamal and his eldest son, and expressed his affection for Spain due to his personal relationship.
