Courts Delivered in Santo Domingo Norte to Boost Youth
The Ministry of Youth, in collaboration with the Mayor’s Office of Santo Domingo Norte, carried out the delivery of sports courts in various sectors of the municipality. This initiative, framed within the “Una Cancha Pa’ Mi Barrio” program and within “Juventud con B de Barrio”, has the main objective of promoting healthy recreation and the integral development of young people. The delivery act took place in the City Hall of Santo Domingo Norte and was attended by the Minister of Youth, Carlos Valdez, along with the mayor Betty Gerónimo, local authorities, community leaders, and young beneficiaries.During his intervention, Minister Carlos Valdez emphasized that this program seeks to provide concrete opportunities to young people in their communities, through the creation of spaces suitable for sports practice and social interaction. Mayor Betty Gerónimo highlighted the City Hall’s participation in this project, explaining that the study carried out by the city council allowed for the precise identification of areas with the greatest need for sports facilities, thus facilitating a more effective intervention. She emphasized that these actions directly contribute to the well-being of the communities and the strengthening of the social fabric in the municipality. The construction of these courts was made possible thanks to the joint work between the Ministry of Youth and the Mayor’s Office of Santo Domingo Norte, where the territorial analysis carried out by the local government served as the basis for the execution of the program. “A Court For My Neighborhood” is part of the Ministry of Youth’s strategies to expand access to sports and generate development opportunities for young people throughout the country. These courts are a tool to boost talent, foster values, and continue building safer environments for our youth.
