Córdoba and Fernández shine at the Junior Golf Tour stop in Punta Cana

PUNTA CANA – The Punta Blanca Golf & Beach Club was the setting for the second stop of the 2025-26 National Youth Tour, an event organized by Fedogolf and the Youth Tour Committee. The competition, which was held under the Stroke Play format for two days, crowned Marcos Córdoba and María Fernanda Fernández as champions in the men’s and women’s divisions, respectively. A total of 51 young golfers from various cities such as Santo Domingo, Puerto Plata, Santiago, La Vega, Jarabacoa, La Romana, Juan Dolio and Punta Cana, participated in the tournament. The categories covered ranged from U6 to U18, both male and female. The players in the U13, U15, and U18 categories completed two rounds of 18 holes, while the youngest, from U6, played 5 holes and those from U8 and U10 competed in a round of 9 holes.

In the U18 male category, Marcos Córdoba took the championship with an outstanding performance. In the U15, Alejandro Balbuena led the table, closely followed by Agustín Pérez.

• U15 Male: Alejandro Balbuena (champion), Agustín Pérez (second place), Eduardo Ramírez (third place).
• U13 Male: Vincenzo Mallol (champion), Diego Columna (second place), James Doucet (third place).

In the Pipiolos category, Rodion Komnatnyi stood out in the U9, Gustavo Rojas in the U8, and Felipe Pichardo in the U6.

• U8: Gustavo Rojas (first place), Daniel Navas (second place), Eduardo Azpurua (third place).
• U6: Felipe Pichardo (first place).

In the women’s branch, María Fernanda Fernández was crowned champion in the U18. Sara Sabillón dominated the U15, while Eva Rozenko and Uliana Skrypai led the U9. María Carolina Cohen and Olivia Rojas were the winners in the U8 and U6 categories, respectively.
