Monte Plata – The deputy for the province of Monte Plata, Jhon Contreras, honored the stellar Major League player, Elly de la Cruz, with a special recognition this Sunday.
The ceremony took place during the celebration of the First Double A Jhon Contreras Ball Cup, an event that brought together a crowd of fans and prominent figures from the local sport.
The meeting took place at Play Berto Castillo, serving as the setting for the presentation of the recognition to Elly de la Cruz, a native of the municipality of Sabana Grande de Boyá.
The recognition was presented just before the exciting final match between the teams of Monte Plata and Sabana Grande de Boyá.
Congressman Contreras was accompanied by the provincial president of the party, Víctor Pichardo, and other municipal and provincial authorities, who witnessed the emotional event.
The legislator emphasized the pride the province feels for Elly de la Cruz’s achievements in the Major Leagues.
