Monte Plata – The deputy for the province, Jhon Contreras, presented a recognition to the outstanding Major League Baseball player, Elly de la Cruz, originally from Sabana Grande de Boyá. The ceremony took place during the First Jhon Contreras Double Ball Cup, held at the Play Berto Castillo. The event was attended by numerous fans and prominent figures of the local sport. The recognition was presented before the final match played by the teams of Monte Plata and Sabana Grande de Boyá. Congressman Contreras was accompanied by Víctor Pichardo, provincial president of the party, and other municipal and provincial authorities.
Contreras also urged the youth to emulate the discipline, dedication, and spirit of self-improvement demonstrated by the athlete.The legislator highlighted the pride the province feels for Elly De La Cruz’s success in the Major Leagues.
