Cibao FC and Delfines del Este Define the First Champion of the LDF Cup 2025

Santiago.- The excitement is at its peak. Only 90 minutes remain to know the first champion of the Copa LDF 2025. Cibao FC and Delfines del Este will face each other this Saturday at 6:00 p.m. at the stadium of the Pontificia Universidad Católica Madre y Maestra.

This match will define the winner of a tournament that has demonstrated the growing level of the Dominican Republic Football League (LDF), serving as a prelude to the 2025/2026 professional season.

In case of a tie at the end of regular time, two extra periods of 15 minutes each will be played. If the tie persists, the champion will be decided from the penalty spot.

Cibao FC arrives at this last match with a solid home defense, without having conceded goals on their field. Goalkeepers Miguel “Pichi” Lloyd, Edwin “Gato” Frías and Enzo “Ferrari” Guzmán have kept their goal at zero during the 540 minutes of play.

For their part, the Eastern Dolphins present themselves as the team with the strongest defense in the LDF Cup, thanks to the performance of their goalkeepers Pedro Espinal, José Miguel Navarro and Jael Ceballos.

In the semifinals, Cibao FC eliminated Moca FC with a global score of +2, after winning 2-0 away and drawing goalless at home. Los Delfines overcame Club Atlético Pantoja with a global of +1, the result of a 1-0 victory and a 0-0 draw.

In the only previous encounter between both teams in the regular season, the score was 1-1, a result that was also repeated in the first leg.

The player Rivaldo Correa, from Cibao FC, leads the top scorer table with 9 goals in the LDF Cup. Javier Roces, also from Cibao FC, has a total of 5 goals, followed by Daiver Vega with 4.

Junior Scheldeur, champion of the LDF 2024, leads Cibao FC, while José Rodríguez is the strategist for Delfines del Este.
