Cibao FC Plays All or Nothing in the 2025 Concacaf Caribbean Cup
Santiago de los Caballeros will be the setting for a crucial encounter this Tuesday at the Cibao FC Stadium. The home team will face Defence Force FC in the second leg match for third place in the 2025 Concacaf Caribbean Cup. The prize at stake is a coveted ticket to the 2026 Concacaf Champions Cup.
The Defence Force arrives with a considerable advantage, after winning 3-0 in the first leg. In that match, the Trinidadian team demonstrated their offensive power and had an outstanding performance by their goalkeeper, Isaiah Williams, who made eight key saves to keep his goal unbeaten.
Cibao FC, runner-up of the previous edition, will seek the comeback relying on its main figure, Rivaldo Correa, historical top scorer of the Caribbean Cup. The forward will seek to lead the team’s offense and motivate the local fans.
This will be the third encounter between both clubs in this edition of the tournament. Kevin Molino, from Defence Force, has been a constant threat, scoring in the two previous matches.
The winner of the aggregate score will secure their place in the 2026 Concacaf Champions Cup. In case of a tie, the away goals rule will be applied. If the tie persists, extra time will be played and, if necessary, a penalty shootout will determine the qualifier.
