Cibao FC Maintains its Dominance over Jarabacoa in the LDF
Santiago, Dominican Republic – Cibao FC reaffirmed its supremacy over Jarabacoa FC in the Dominican Republic Football League (LDF) by defeating them 2-0 in a match played on Sunday at the stadium of the Pontificia Universidad Católica Madre y Maestra, as part of matchday 6, dedicated to the memory of José Rafael Abinader.
This was the 18th match between both teams in the LDF, with Cibao FC accumulating 14 victories and 4 draws.
With this result, Cibao FC added three crucial points, reaching a total of 12, the product of four victories in six matches. For its part, Jarabacoa FC remained with four points.
The match had a tense moment in the 32nd minute, when Saúl Castro from Jarabacoa committed a foul on Gonzalo Alarcón, who had to be substituted by Omar De la Cruz due to the injury.
The first half ended with a score of 0-0, thanks to the solid defense of both teams.
In the second half, Cibao FC managed to break the tie in the 48th minute. Carlos “Caballo” Ventura made a powerful shot that, after an attempt to deflect by Martiniano Sueldo, ended in an own goal, putting the home team in the lead 1-0.
The second goal came in the 55th minute, when Ángel Pérez, with a “sombrerito”, beat goalkeeper Ángel Marte to extend the lead to 2-0 in favor of Cibao FC.
Immediately after the second goal, Cibao FC made three strategic changes, bringing Javier Roces, Jean Carlos López, and Gabriel Peguero onto the field, replacing Wilman Modesta, Ángel Pérez, and Josué Núñez.
The last substitution for Cibao FC was in the 74th minute, with Julián Gómez coming on for Walter Acuña.
