Cibao Eagles defeat Estrellas Orientales in the Cibao
Santiago, Dominican Republic – In a day marked by joy and the presence of thousands of children who entered the stadium with toys, the Águilas Cibaeñas achieved a resounding victory against the Estrellas Orientales with a score of 6-1, at the Cibao Stadium. This match is part of the 2025-2026 autumn-winter baseball tournament, dedicated to Juan Marichal.
The Eagles demonstrated their dominance in the series, winning nine of the ten games played in the regular season.
The team has maintained a solid performance both at home and away. Their record in the “Death Valley” is 17-7, and 15-9 when they play as visitors.
With this result, the Eagles reach a 32-16 mark, with the possibility of reaching 34 victories, a record for a 60-game regular season.
Jorge Tavárez (4-1) took the victory, while Enny Romero (1-4) took the loss.
Jorge Tavárez, the designated starting pitcher by Luis “Pipe” Urueta, completed 5.0 innings allowing one run, three hits, two walks, and one strikeout.
The Eagles’ relief was led by Luis Patiño (6), Richard Rodríguez (8) and Junior Fernández (9).
Enny Romero, Carlos Paulino’s starting pitcher, had a brief outing, working 1.1 innings. He allowed two hits, three earned runs, three walks, and no strikeouts.

Of the seven hits by the Águilas, four were extra-base hits: a home run by Elih Marrero and doubles by Geraldo Perdomo, Juan Lagares, and Corey Joyce. Ezequiel Durán hit two singles and Robert Moore one.
The Estrellas connected six hits, three of them in the first inning, where they scored their only run. Ismael Munguía hit three singles, while Dairon Blanco, Rodolfo Castro and Raimer Tapia each hit one.

The sixth run came in the third inning, after a walk to Aderlín Rodríguez and a home run by Elih Marrero.
The Águilas Cibaeñas will travel tomorrow to La Romana to face the Toros del Este in a game scheduled for 7:30 PM at the Francisco A. Micheli stadium.
