Christensen, significant loss for Barcelona due to injury

FC Barcelona has confirmed worrying news for its defense. Andreas Christensen suffers a partial tear of the anterior cruciate ligament of the left knee, an injury that occurred during training.

The club reported that the Danish player underwent medical tests to determine the extent of the injury. Initial treatment will be conservative, with the aim of avoiding surgery.

This absence adds to a list of absences that complicate the situation for the team led by Hansi Flick.

Pedro González ‘Pedri’ is also out for the match against Villarreal due to hamstring discomfort.

In addition, Ronald Araujo remains out of action, recovering from a health issue, Gavi, in the process of recovering after a meniscus surgery, and Dani Olmo, rehabilitating from a dislocated shoulder.

Barcelona’s medical staff will assess Christensen’s progress to determine the timeframe for his return to competition.
