Miami, United States – Chris Paul has reached an agreement to return to the Los Angeles Clippers, marking his return to the franchise after his time with the San Antonio Spurs. The point guard, a key figure in the NBA for six seasons with the Clippers, is preparing for what could be his last season in the league.
A Stellar Reunion
Paul, at 40 years old and twelve-time All-Star selection, joins a team packed with veteran talent. Kawhi Leonard, James Harden, and Bradley Beal, the latter recently added, make up a group that aims to lead the Clippers to their first NBA championship.
The point guard averaged 8.8 points per game, in addition to 7.4 assists, in his last season with the Spurs, where he served as a mentor to a team full of young players in full growth.
In his previous stint with the Clippers (2011-2017), Paul led a promising team, although they failed to advance past the second round of the playoffs. Despite this, the franchise always remained a high-level competitor.
Last season, the Clippers finished fifth in the Western Conference, with a record of 50 wins and 32 losses. However, they were eliminated in the first round of the playoffs after an intense series against the Denver Nuggets, which extended to the seventh game.
Chris Paul, with an outstanding international career, including gold medals at the Beijing 2008 and London 2012 Olympic Games with the United States national team, is now seeking the NBA championship ring, an achievement he has not yet achieved in his career.
